Once we hand over the passwords to your site, it's your responsibility to look after it and we strongly recommend that you do regular backups, especially if you have added new data.
Making a Backup
- Log in to your CP control panel and click on the 'backup' icon under 'files'.
- Select 'Download or Generate a Full Backup'.
- Choose 'Home Directory' from the dropdown list and add your email address.
- Click 'Generate Backup' and wait until you receive a confirmation email.
- Once you have your email, click 'go back' twice. You will now see that on the left are your backed up files and on the right are boxes for uploading backed up files.
- Click on the Download links on the left to save a copy of the backed up files to your computer. This normally takes between 5 and 10 minutes for an average sized site.
We cannot stress this enough. As perfect as cms sites are, it is still possible to lose your site through simple admin errors or someone hacking into your page and we don't want to be starting from scratch after all that hard work!!!
